Letters of Recommendation

It is my job to help you succeed and achieve your goals. Part of that involves writing letters of recommendation. Never hesitate about asking me for a letter of recommendation!

When requesting a letter, please provide at least one week's notice if a letter has already previously been written or two week's notice if this is the first time you are requesting a letter (the more time, the better in the latter case). Of course, sudden opportunities might arise, so consider this more of a guideline.

When requesting a letter, please share the deadline and any information about the application. Additionally, if this is the first letter you're requesting or it's been a while, please attach your resume/CV. If there is something specific you would like to have highlighted in the letter, feel free to mention this as well. If the letter is due in two days or less and it hasn't yet been submitted, please send a follow-up email. I will email you when I submit a letter so you never have to wonder.

If you have a large number of letters of recommendation to request (e.g. for graduate school applications, faculty applications), please create a spreadsheet on  Airtable  or  Google Sheets  with the relevant information (e.g. program details, deadline, submission link) and share the link with me, ideally with edit access. I will update it as I submit letters on my end so we are both kept in the loop.
