Fellowships and Awards

There is certainly no shortage of things you can apply to as an academic. I have tried to put together a list of relevant fellowships and awards below that may interest you. Note that this is not an exhaustive list and only includes fellowships and awards that would be offered to you while a member of the group. Also, make sure you read the eligibility in detail before choosing to apply.
In most cases, it will be expected that graduate students in the group apply for research fellowships when appropriate. It is my job to support the group in this process — I will provide direct 1:1 mentorship to help you reach your full potential. I personally encourage all domestic students to consider applying to NSF GRFP, NDSEG, and/or DOE CSGF as appropriate.

Fellowships

For a larger list of funding opportunities, see  this document  for graduate students and  this document  for postdocs. In addition, many universities have their own postdoctoral fellowships as well.
If you are writing a fellowship application, we should meet a few times to ensure that you have the best odds possible. When possible, please send me a draft in advance of the deadline so that I can provide comments that you can incorporate.

Awards

Unlike fellowships which fund your research in the group, awards are mainly meant to honor your successes and may provide a small cash prize for your personal use. Additional travel-related awards can be found in  ✈️Conferences .
